A base pad adds weight at the bottom of the SFP9 magazine so it exits cleanly on release and closes the magwell funnel geometry at the bottom when a magwell is fitted. The SFP9 is the competition-oriented 9mm from HK -- sold as the VP9 in North America -- and its magazine accepts aftermarket base pads designed for the HK platform. The SFP9 and VP9 share the same magazine, so base pad compatibility is the same across both.
